Sadika’s Garden is a moving and uplifting story of a group of Canadians, once refugees themselves, uniting to sponsor a Syrian refugee family of eight from war-torn Raqqa to Vancouver, completing the circle of generosity. Those who once received refuge now pay it forward to the vulnerable which leads to a miraculous dream coming true for Sadika’s daughter, Batoul. Sadika’s Garden is made possible with a grant from TELUS STORYHIVE, and is available for free on demand on TELUS Optik TV starting July 15, 2019. It will also be available to watch at YouTube.com/STORYHIVE.
My goal as an immigrant filmmaker is to educate people about the similarities of human race and to ultimately help bring us closer together.
I went to film school at the (Fundacion Universidad del Cine) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and specialized in film direction. I soon began working in international feature films and commercial as an assistant director. After earning a multimedia diploma at UBC, I worked as an editor and assistant editor while I was also directing her own independent films. Based in Vancouver, I am currently producing and editing marketing videos for several companies and non-profit organizations.
